Minnan-Wong and Caplan Effectively Tied

Toronto, October 16th – In a random sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Poll™ among 410 Don Valley East voters, amongst those decided and leaning, about 4 in 10 (39%) say they will support incumbent Denzil Minnan-Wong, while a third (35%) say they will support former MPP David Caplan.

Few say they will support Michael Woulfe (5%), Stephen Ksiazek (5%), Diane Gadoutsis (3%) or Aria Alavi (3%).

About 1 in 10 (10%) say they will support another candidate.

Tory has a decided edge in Don Valley East

Tory’s support (62%) is three times higher than Keesmaat (19%) in Don Valley East.

About one fifth (19%) of Don Valley East voters say they are supporting one of the other candidates.

“Minnan-Wong and Caplan are deadlocked, and see results that are effectively equal,” said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of Forum Research. “While Caplan isn’t an incumbent, his name recognition in Don Valley East is clearly a factor with voters, though at this point it’s difficult to say which candidate will prevail.”
