Calandra trails in Markham-Stouffville
Liberal’s Philpott with more than half
the vote
TORONTO
October 4th, 2015 - In a random sampling of public opinion taken by
the Forum Poll™ among 439 voters in the new GTA federal riding of
Markham-Stouffville, more than half (51%) will vote for the Liberal candidate,
Jane Philpott, while just 4-in-10 will vote for the Conservative
quasi-incumbent, Paul Calandra (40%). Very few will vote NDP (6%) or Green (2%).
“Part
of this riding was held by the Liberals until 2008, when
Paul Calandra, won his seat in Oak Ridges-Markham. His attempt to transfer that
success to this newly formed riding seems doomed to failure at this point,
though,” said Forum Research President, Dr. Lorne Bozinoff.
