Conservatives lead in St Albert-Edmonton

Brent Rathgeber in second

TORONTO September 25th, 2015 - In a random sampling of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 490 voters in the newly distributed federal riding of St Albert-Edmonton, close to 4-in-10 will vote for Michael Cooper, the Conservative candidate (38%), while the incumbent, independent Brent Rathgeber, will take 3-in-10 (29%). The NDP candidate, Darlene Malayko, will take one fifth of the vote (19%), and the Liberal, Beatrice Ghettuba, one tenth (11%). Few will vote Green (4%).

“Brent Rathgeber is one of the most admired members of the House by political insiders, because of his relentlessly independent stance on controversial issues. His riding’s history as a Conservative stronghold appears to have overcome this legacy, though," said Forum Research President, Dr. Lorne Bozinoff.
